After all, Gen-Z has used the app as a vehicle to broadcast some of our most beloved decor trends, including the nugget couch, candle bending and cottagecore aesthetic. “Rather than restricting themselves to ‘normal’ forms of inspiration, TikTokers look anywhere from childhood nostalgia to classic literature to add a taste of whimsy to their worldview,” Chestang explains.
