The wedding invite says cocktail hour and you know your dress looks best with heels. Still, the farm/vineyard/backyard locale of the proceedings clues you in to the fact that you’ll undoubtedly be in a position where you’re balancing a spiky (yet stunning) stiletto heel on grass. Royals to the rescue: Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne who joined her cousin Prince William for a Buckingham Palace garden party this week, just introduced the world to the ultimate solve: Heel caps, $10.

Not only are they genius, they’re kind of plug-and-play. For example, with the 10-pack we found on Amazon—it comes with a range of sizes to choose from based on the circumference of your heel. Simply pop them on (as Zara did) and you’ll be surprised and delighted at how much easier it is to not only walk on grass, but also navigate uneven surfaces, too. After all, we all know what adding even a touch more surface area to our heel can do for our overall balance.

Back to Zara—we’re thrilled to see her modeling such a genius shoe-wearing move. It’s reminiscent of that time we learned Queen Elizabeth II added small weights to the hems of her skirts to help manage any unexpected bursts of wind, but also the reveal that many a royal (like Meghan Markle) choose heels a size up to prevent blisters.

Also, while we’re on the subject of Zara’s heels, we are huge fans of the dusty pink ‘Rebecca’ style (offically called “makeup”), $600, from Emmy London that she chose to wear. It’s worth noting that Kate Middleton owns the exact same pair.

Cheers to cute (and royally-approved) summer shoes. But also, we’ll take all the high heel hacks and summer wedding solutions we can get.
