Every season, without fail, an animal print rises to the top of the fashion food chain. But this spring I’m seeing a whole zoo worth of animal-inspired prints popping up all over the place. And I’m not just talking about leopard spots and zebra stripes. There’s also a more, let’s say, domestic print making its way to the forefront: cow print.

Yes, these black-and-white spots (and brown-and-white, too) are taking the Cowboy Core trend to a whole other level, and I think they’re only going to become more prevalent as temperatures rise this summer. So, grab your cowboy boots and get ready to channel Aly and AJ in Cow Belles in the most literal sense, because cattle print is totally the moo-d.

Why Is Cow Print So Popular Right Now?

There are many reasons why cow print is so popular right now, starting with my guess that trendsetters are experiencing a wave of leopard-print fatigue. Of course, it was only a matter of time before cow print reigned supreme. Thanks to Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé's country album, the Western aesthetic has been gaining popularity since 2024—see also: the rise in brown suede boots and handbags. And with cow print being the epitome of yee-haw style, it only makes sense that it would have a *huge* moment this year.

How to Nail the Trend

The cow print fashion trend is super easy to incorporate into your capsule wardrobe, given that cowhide often has an earth-toned palette that can easily be paired with fall neutrals like beige, black and brown. So when you find yourself reaching for a pop of print to go with your basics, resist the urge to go leopard and grab a cow-print option instead. In other words, skip your basic black silk skirt and make a statement with this rodeo-ready cow-print one. Or, just scoop up these Tory Burch Mellow studded mules ($328), which are guaranteed to take your fall fits to Bey-approved heights. Ready to get your cowgirl style on? I've rounded up 11 styles that will help you pull off the cow print trend before anyone else. Giddy up!

Cow print cowboy boots are extremely on the nose, but that’s precisely what makes them such a fun choice. I love that these knee-high boots have no zipper for a super-clean 360-degree look. Reviewers do suggest these boots require a short break-in period, but after that say they’re incredibly comfortable for all-day wear. Lean into those Western vibes with some jeans or a denim midi skirt, or try balancing those rugged vibes with a posh LBD or vest with tailored shorts.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 6 to 11
  • Materials: leather upper, rubber sole

This boho carryall has a calf hair exterior and plenty of room on the inside to stow all your essentials and then some. The strap is a fixed length but appears long enough to comfortably fit over your shoulder. This is definitely primed and ready to be your new go-to tote for summer.

FAST FACTS

  • Size: not listed
  • Materials: leather

This satin-finish midi skirt comes in both black- and brown-and-white, and has an elastic waistband. That said, reviewers say the fit is a little small in the hips, so you may want to go one size up for extra comfort. And while it is machine washable (score!), be sure to skip the dryer and lay this midi flat to dry to prevent damaging that luxe-looking fabric.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XL
  • Materials: 97 percent polyester, 3 percent spandex

Lean into the Cow Belles vibes with these cute wood-heeled clogs from Anthropologie. The heel adds 3.5 inches to your height and reviewers say they’re surprisingly easy to walk in. “The shoes themselves are really pretty and they look awesome with jeans,” writes one 5-star reviewer. “They’re easy to walk in and don’t slide off my feet like a lot of mules do.”

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: EU 36 to 41
  • Materials: leather upper, wood heel, rubber sole

As with all animal prints, a little goes a long way toward making a bold statement. If you’re not yet ready to rock cow spots from head to toe, try a smaller touch, like this cute faux-calf hair belt. The gold buckle certainly pops, but without being quite so obviously western. Wear it with jeans for a classic cowgirl look, or over a black blazer for an office-appropriate twist that’s right on trend.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XL
  • Materials: faux fur and faux leather

This brown-and-white mesh top reads less overtly “cow” than a black-and-white version might, giving it more versatility overall. The neckline is also incredibly flattering, and the thin fabric makes it easy for layering or for tucking into high-waist trousers or a denim maxi skirt. Add to that the fact that it’s currently on sale and I’m sold!

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XL
  • Materials: 96 percent viscose, 4 percent elastane

Despite being called the “low-rise baggy” jeans, this style fits more like a loose mid-rise, in my opinion. They aren’t overly baggy, just looser than your average straight-leg, which I find super comfortable. Plus, they don’t stretch out, even with frequent wear. So you can continue to rock your cow print jeans again and again and again and again, with everything from a white tee and sneakers for weekend errand running to an off-the-shoulder top and gold cowboy boots for the Cowboy Carter tour.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 24 to 34, also short, regular and long
  • Materials: 99 percent cotton, 1 percent elastane

Yes, cow print can look elevated, and these strappy kitten heels are the proof. The stiletto heel is just 2.25-inches high and the ankle strap offers extra support while you walk. Just know, these beauties are currently on backorder, but I feel oh-so confident they’ll be well worth the wait.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 5 to 12
  • Materials: leather upper, synthetic sole

This flirty minidress balances a full-coverage crew-neckline and long sleeves with a shorter hem. The skirt also has a slight flare to give a little extra flounce while you walk. Reviewers generally agree this dress fits true to size, with many also saying the fabric feels really nice when on.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to L
  • Materials: 100 percent viscose

OK, so these boots are technically from the men’s section, but don’t let that stop you from snapping them up to live out all your Cowboy Core-inspired dreams. The mix of cow print and black leather is incredibly cool, as is the addition of that buckled strap around the ankle, and makes them a bit more versatile than a fully cow-print boot. And the zipper up the inside makes them a breeze to pull on and off.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: men’s US 7 to 14 (women’s US 8.5 to 15.5)
  • Materials: leather upper, rubber sole
