Like any fashionable New YorkerKatie Holmes has her street style down pat. And it looks like recently, she's taken a bit of inspiration from across the pond. The Rare Objects actress and director was photographed with the DeMellier Midi New York tote ($595) in a trendy mocha suede hue whilst hailing a cab in the bag's namesake city. And what's more is that DeMellier has had the royal treatment, being a favorite handbag brand of none other than the Princess of Wales. When something has a seal of approval from the royal family, and fashion icon Kate Middleton specifically, you know it's got to be top notch.

DeMellier

Holmes paired her DeMellier bag with a polished, yet comfortable fit, donning a crepey cream-colored button-down, a white under shirt, a pair of dark, gray-wash jeans, a structured heather gray blazer, a pair of cream Reebok sneakers and a simple glittering chain necklace.

With a shape reminiscent of the the Polène Cyme bag ($560), the DeMellier Midi New York tote is a luxurious take on the everyday essential. Made ethically and sustainably with a soft and supple small grain cowhide leather exterior, a 100 percent cotton interior and furnished with the DeMellier logo and gold-plated hardware, the Midi New York is as beautiful as it is functional. The bag's 19-inch opening width and 8.7-inch height is perfect for carrying around and storing all of your things, from your wallet and phone to keys and gloss, there's room for it all. Plus, it keeps everything nice and secure thanks to the central internal magnet that closes off the interior. Not to mention that it looks incredibly chic nestled into the crook of an elbow with its tubular handles and 4.7-inch drop. But, if you're itching to turn it into a crossbody, it does also come with a strap that gives you a generous 19.3-inch drop.

Demellier

The Midi comes in a total of 14 different hues, so there's a little something for everyone to choose from. Personally, I'm eyeing the sleek burgundy number and the earthy olive suede.

It's important to note that if you're looking to make this your everyday work bag, you'll want to size up to the standard New York tote ($670) as the Midi doesn't fit a 13-inch laptop, but rather will only fit a 11-inch laptop or iPad. Still, it's a great choice for those seeking something sized somewhere between a little purse and a hefty tote.
