As first responders and firefighters work round the clock to provide aid and contain the fires currently ravaging the Los Angeles area, people are coming together nationwide to support those in need. It's a devastating time for all who hold the area dear, especially those who have had to evacuate their homes. And for many parents, there's the additional hurdle of caring for their children amid this loss—helping them feel safe while searching to have their basic needs met.

To help with the latter, I wanted to share these resources I've come across; the brands and organizations that are stepping up and offering car seats, formula, strollers and other essentials to those impacted by the fires. I know that a new car seat doesn't make up for what you've lost and for the emotional toll of this experience, but I (and the rest of the PureWow team) hope they can provide some help.

1. Formula

Bobbie has a history of donating to those in need. As its team learned about the wildfires, they immediately took action, launching the Bobbie LA Fire Relief Fund. The brand is donating 1,000 cans to organizations locally, but for anyone impacted by the fires, you can apply to potentially have the rest of your feeding journey covered by the brand.

2. Car Seats

If you've lost a Babyark car seat during the fires, you can apply through the brand's website to receive a replacement. The company also has a limited supply of car seats they're donating to anyone who's lost a car seat, even if it wasn't a Babyark one.

3. Strollers & Car Seats

Similarly, Cybex is donating strollers and car seats to those who have lost their homes—or have been otherwise impacted—by the wildfires.

4. Cribs

LA-based brand Babyletto is offering cribs to those in need. To apply for one, the company asks that you email them directly: info@babyletto.com.

5. Childcare

Los Angeles-area YMCAs are offering free childcare to anyone who's been displaced, as well as firefighters' and first responders' families. Space is limited, and children must be at least 4 years and 9 months old to participate. You can learn more here, and you can sign up by emailing afterschool@ymcaLA.org.

6. Diapers

Diaper brand Freestyle World is taking action on Instagram, asking anyone who's evacuated and in need to DM them on the platform. "We'll do our best to get you some diapers," they wrote.

7. Food, Housing and Other Aid

Additionally, the California Department of Social Services has compiled a list of resources to find nearby food banks, receive housing or unemployment assistance, and more.

Together, we will get through this.
