These Are the Top Baby Names of 2020 (& We're Sensing a Pattern Here)

This just in: BabyCenter has released their annual list of the trendiest uncommon baby names from 2020. Sophia and Olivia top the ranking for girls, while Liam and Noah were rather popular for boys, but we noticed something even more interesting. Both the boy names and the girl names follow a specific pattern: Out of the 50 top names for girls in 2020, 23 of them end with the letter “A”. (That’s almost 50 percent!) Ditto the boys—except the most popular ones end with a different letter: “N.” (Close to 40 percent of the entire list!)

Here, the list in its entirety, perfect fodder for 2021 baby naming discussions. (Come on, you know you’re having them.)
