Care.com Is Providing Free Childcare on Election Day (Because They Know We Need It)

Fact: There’s an extremely important election coming up on November 3. So, if you don’t want to choose between casting a vote and worrying about leaving your kids at home (or bringing them into an unsanitary environment), you’re in luck.

Cue Care.com, an online destination that’s making it possible for moms and dads to conquer both voting and babysitting. The company just announced that it’s teaming up with Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) to launch a major new campaign that will offer free childcare options at 27 (and counting) locations across the country on election day.

Beginning October 13, parents can visit the landing page to reserve a free four-hour spot for their children at one of the participating locations. Then on election day, the kids can be dropped off during the scheduled time frame.

There are no restrictions on the age range or how many kids you bring (as long as they’re registered), since each location will have a minimum of 20 children. However, please note: Everyone will need to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, so bring masks.

The campaign is in response to a brand-new study that was conducted by Care.com, which surveyed 2,000 gen-pop parents across the U.S. According to the findings, “89 percent of parents say childcare policies are important to their vote in the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election.”

So, parents: Let’s get out there and vote for candidates who make the world a better place for us and our children.
