The Diplomat season two is making quite the impression.

Netflix just released the political drama’s second season on October 31, and The Diplomat has already claimed the number one spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ahead of Beauty in Black, The Lincoln Lawyer and The Manhattan Alien Abduction.)

The story follows a U.S. diplomat named Kate Wyle (Keri Russell) who’s in over her head. It all begins when she accepts a new position as an ambassador to the U.K., a role that she’s not totally qualified for. Meanwhile, her husband (Rufus Sewell) is offering too much support. As a former politician, he’s struggling to step aside and be a true partner.

In addition to Russell and Sewell, The Diplomat also stars David Gyasi, Rory Kinnear, Ato Essandoh, Ali Ahn, Jon Moore, Adam Silver, Nana Mensah, Bhav Joshi, Michael McKean and Joey Eden. It’s written and produced by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Homeland, Grey’s Anatomy).

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Cahn teased what fans can expect from The Diplomat season two. “Season one ended with Kate’s realization that the attack on a British warship [that] brought her to the U.K. wasn’t the work of a hostile nation—it was the British prime minister,” she said. “Now she has to prove it.”

Cahn continued, “The U.S. and the U.K. don’t spy on each other. In fact, they share all their intelligence. So, how do you investigate the PM? Who do you trust?”

All eight episodes of The Diplomat season two are now streaming on Netflix. (You're welcome.)
