Yes, chef: FX’s The Bear has (quietly) been renewed for a season four.
You may be wondering: What do we mean by “quietly”? Though FX has not released a statement about the season four renewal, multiple unnamed sources exclusively told Deadline that talks of The Bear season four have been simmering behind the scenes for quite some time. (Note: A spokesperson for FX declined to comment on the recent report.)
This surprise announcement comes months after FX confirmed that The Bear had been renewed for a season three back in November 2023. At the time, the network announced the news on the show’s official Instagram page. Along with a video montage filled with various scenes from the hit comedy-drama, the caption read, “Who wants another round? FX’s The Bear is returning for a third season. Only on @Hulu. #TheBearFX.”
Deadline also reported that the rumored The Bear season four is expected to start production immediately after filming for season three wraps in Chicago.
Speaking of The Bear season three, the new installment will premiere sometime in June. How do we know this? According to Variety, FX chairman John Landgraf confirmed the release during this year’s Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, which took place back in February.
In addition to The Bear season one taking home ten awards at the 2023 Emmys, the second season experienced a savory victory at the 2024 Golden Globes, where they won the award for Best Comedy Series. And not to mention one of the show’s stars, Ayo Edebiri, swept this year’s award season.
Now all we need is those official release dates, FX.
