There’s a new movie climbing Netflix’s Top 10, and if you’re a fan of '80s and '90s action stars, this one’s going to hit all the nostalgia buttons.

The movie in question? Escape Plan, starring none other than Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yep, two of the biggest action heroes of all time teaming up in one film. The plot follows Stallone as Ray Breslin, a lawyer-turned-prison security expert who gets locked up in the world’s most high-security prison. To make his great escape, he teams up with fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer, played by Schwarzenegger.

But wait, it’s not just Stallone and Schwarzenegger bringing the heat—Escape Plan boasts a star-studded cast. We’re talking Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Amy Ryan, Jim Caviezel, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Sam Neill.

Though it originally hit theaters back in October 2013 and grossed $137 million worldwide, Escape Plan is currently enjoying a second wind on Netflix, landing in the platform’s #4 spot on its Top 10 list a decade later.

And for those who are loving the action vibes, guess what? There’s more.

Escape Plan isn’t just a standalone film—it’s part of a trilogy. Escape Plan 2: Hades dropped in 2018 (with Stallone and 50 Cent returning) adding Jesse Metcalfe, Titus Welliver, Wes Chatham, Dave Bautista and Jaime King to the mix. In this one, Ray Breslin (Stallone) leads an elite team to rescue his operative from an insane high-tech prison.

Then there’s Escape Plan 3: The Extractors, released in 2019. This time, Stallone’s character is hired to rescue the daughter of a Hong Kong tycoon from a brutal Latvian prison. Oh, and his girlfriend gets captured, too, so the stakes are higher than ever.

So, if you’re in the mood for some high-octane action and a little ‘90s star power, Escape Plan (and its sequels) should be next on your watch list. All three are available to stream on Netflix.
