Get Ready, ‘Squid Game’ Fans: Season 2 Is Coming Sooner Than You Think—and We’ve Got a Brand-New Teaser

Who’s ready for round two? 

Netflix just announced the official release date for Squid Game season two with a surprise teaser. And you’ll be excited to know that the next installment of the popular South Korean drama is coming sooner than expected.

The 56-second teaser starts with a group of track runners lining up at the starting line. As they continue to run, they stop mid-sprint as a slew of individuals wearing the iconic Squid Game tracksuit and white slip-on sneakers surpass them. 

Then, the camera pans to reveal the game master and the workers standing on a podium. “It’s been three years,” the game master says, “Do you want to play again?”

Be sure to mark your calendars: Squid Game season two premieres on Netflix on December 26, 2024. Not only were we shown the premiere date for Squid Game season two, but the streaming service also revealed that the series will end with season three, which is set to premiere sometime in 2025. 

If the teaser wasn’t enough, the show’s creator, director and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk also released a heartfelt message of his own to fans. The letter read: “Seong Gi-hun who vowed revenge at the end of Season 1 returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man doesn't seem to be an easy opponent this time either. The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.”
