Prince Charles Candidly Reacts to Watching ‘The Crown’: ‘I’m Nowhere Near How They Portray Me’

Prince Charles has some *thoughts* about how he’s portrayed on the Netflix series, The Crown. (Spoiler alert: He’s not a fan.)

Throughout all four seasons, the show chronicles the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth, as well as other members of the royal family. While attending the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, a Scottish politician named Anas Sarwar revealed that he spoke with the Prince of Wales at an event last year.

As the royal introduced himself to the members of Parliament, he mentioned the show and his portrayal. “He came over and went, ‘Hello, nice to meet you all. I’m nowhere near how they portray me on Netflix,’” Sarwar said, according to the Daily Mail. “I thought that was a really interesting way of how you describe yourself.”

Sarwar jokingly added, “I’m going to be in so much trouble for this because I don’t think you are meant to tell private conversations!”

In seasons three and four, Prince Charles was played by Josh O'Connor. Since the show focuses on different time periods, the actor portrayed the royal as a young adult. For the remainder of the series, Dominic West will take on the role.

Other members of the royal family have seen the Netflix series as well, including Prince HarryPrincess Eugenie, Prince Edward and even the queen herself.

Now we can’t help but wonder: What does the rest of the royal family think of The Crown?
