PSA: Hannah Horvath Is the Worst Character on ‘Girls’

If there’s one character who rubs us the wrong way on HBO’s Girls, it’s Hannah Horvath (played by Lena Dunham).

On the latest episode of The Worst, PureWow creator Matthew detailed all the reasons why Hannah is the most selfish character on Girls.

Matthew began by introducing the topic: Hannah Horvath from Girls. “Even though all the characters have their flaws, there’s one character in particular that is the worst,” he said. “And that would be Miss Hannah Horvath.”

He went on to explain the premise of his argument, adding, “For those of you who don’t know, Girls is Lena Dunham’s show. Starring Lena Dunham. About Lena Dunham’s life.” Cue the eye roll.

We’ll let you watch the video above to hear why Matthew thinks Hannah is the worst. Not only does he include specific examples, but he also covers a wide range of subjects, like her selfishness and dating history.

Girls premiered on HBO back in 2012, and it ran for six seasons before concluding in 2017. As Matthew explained, “Girls is about being in your 20s in New York City and all the bad decisions you make along the way.” (FYI, the show is loosely based on Dunham’s life.)

Other cast members included Allison Williams (Marnie), Jemima Kirke (Jessa), Zosia Mamet (Shoshanna), Adam Driver (Adam), Alex Karpovsky (Raymond, or “Ray”), Andrew Rannells (Elijah), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Desi) and Jake Lacy (Fran).

Please forgive us, Lena Dunham.
