Who Is Dan Levy’s Partner? Details on the ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Star’s Dating History

After seeing David Rose (Dan Levy) tie the knot with Patrick Brewer (Noah Reid) at their fairytale wedding on Schitt’s Creek, we’ve been mulling over a very important question: Who is Levy’s partner in real life? Did he, like David, ever find his Mariah Carey? Or is the 38-year-old actor saying “a real quick no” to the dating world?

We did a bit of sleuthing, and as it turns out, Levy’s love life is quite different from David’s. Keep reading for all the details on Levy’s relationship status, romantic history and more.

Schitt’s Creek Star Dan Levy Is Getting a New Show on HBO

1. What Is Dan Levy’s Relationship Status?

It appears that the actor is currently single, although he did reveal to Vanity Fair that he went on “a lot of dates” in London prior to the pandemic. He said, “I lived there for a little bit in my early twenties, and I loved it, and I go on a lot of dates there, to be perfectly honest. Me and Los Angeles and the dating scenario are just not the greatest fit.”

2. Has He Ever Been Married?

David Rose may have enjoyed his fairytale wedding to Patrick, but in the real world, Levy has yet to walk down the aisle and say, “I do.”

3. What About Levy’s Past Relationships?

Levy’s dating history is so private that even Sherlock Holmes would struggle to find a shred of evidence. However, the Happiest Season actor has been pretty open about his dating habits in the past.

Back in 2015, when he sat down with Out Magazine, Levy revealed that he was single on Schitt’s Creek, mainly because he wanted to focus on his career. He told the outlet, “I've been single for a bit. It's a strange thing. I don't know whether it's an excuse that I'm telling myself or whether it's just what it is, but I feel like this job has consumed my life. I feel like I only get one shot at this.”

He continued, “I hope that I can find someone when it's all done, or when things are a little bit more smooth. But the eye has really been on making sure that the show is as good as it can be, so that I can be employed for another year.”

In 2020, Levy told Bustle that he dated back in college, but “was not in any place to be of great value in a relationship.” He said, “You then get into these habits where you're dating people who are totally wrong for you because they're seeking out people who are a bit damaged, and you're seeking out people who have one foot out the door so that you don't actually give yourself over in any kind of way.”

4. Is The Actor Open To Marriage?

Levy hasn’t revealed whether he’s going to tie the knot someday, but we do know that he’s a strong advocate for marriage equality. Earlier this year, he attended the Met Gala in a colorful costume that celebrated “queer love and queer visibility,” per Vanity Fair. And while chatting with Attitude, he spoke about the importance of representing the LGBTQ community on Schitt’s Creek.

He said, “I had a platform to tell stories that would reflect my experiences and real experiences of my friends. It felt, in a way, kind of irresponsible not to seize that opportunity and tell stories that meant something, and stories that I haven't really seen that much on television. So, in that capacity it was really important. I was really proud of the work that we did, and I really loved the stories that we're able to tell.”
