Chip & Joanna Gaines’s New Spin-Off Show Is Their Biggest Project to Date

Fixer Upper fans better sit down for this all-new announcement.

Chip and Joanna Gaines just announced the latest spin-off of their popular renovation franchise: Fixer Upper: The Hotel. And Magnolia couple released the first official teaser for the upcoming series, where they transform a historic building into Hotel 1928.

In the clip, Chip and Joanna explain that they’re taking on their biggest project to date. “We are excited we finally get to share some news with you,” Joanna says.

Right on cue, Chip exits the frame and returns wearing a bellboy uniform, complete with black shorts and a pill box hat. He says, “Ya’ll, we’re gonna have a hotel in downtown Waco, Texas.”

The series chronicles the renovation process of a historic building—formerly known as the Grand Karem Shrine—located in downtown Waco. (It’s located a few blocks from Magnolia Market.)

“What do you think about a 50,000 square foot hotel remodel?” Chip says in the clip. “I mean, this is the big leagues. This is what you dream about.”

The show features Chip and Jo working together to transform the space into a new boutique resort, dubbed Hotel 1928. The floor plan consists of 33 guest rooms along with other amenities, including a ballroom, a restaurant and a rooftop terrace.

Chip adds, “I think Jo and I are out of our element to some extent, but I think we’re up for the challenge.” (Click here for more details about Hotel 1928, including future reservations and event bookings.)

Fixer Upper: The Hotel is “coming soon to Magnolia Network,” so stay tuned for updates.
