The trailer for Nicole Kidman’s new erotic thriller has arrived, and it looks like a cross between Anatomy of a Scandal and Miller’s Girl…with a hint of Fifty Shades of Grey

A24 just released a full-length trailer for Babygirl, which is written and directed by Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies). The film has been accumulating positive reviews ever since it premiered at the Venice Film Festival back in August, and that’s mainly due to the steamy on-screen chemistry between Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson, who try (and fail) to balance an illicit love affair. (Warning: There’s no shortage of sexual tension.)

The story follows a powerful CEO, Romy (Kidman), who agrees to participate in a mentorship program with the new group of interns. “Being a CEO means being a collaborator and a nurturer,” she says in the clip. “Everyone is just waiting for me to buckle under the pressure.”

She immediately recognizes one of the interns as a man she had recently seen comforting a lost dog on the street. Although she tries to deny the sexual chemistry with Samuel (Dickinson), she eventually caves.

“Your behavior is unacceptable,” Romy says. To which he responds: “Is it?”

Cue high-stakes love affair. “If we’re gonna do this, we need to set some rules that you and I both agree on,” Samuel adds. “Starting with…I tell you what to do and you do it.”

Romy doesn’t want to take advantage of Samuel. “You’re very young,” she says. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

Unfortunately for her, he is far from naive. “I think I have power over you because I could make one call and you lose everything,” Samuel explains. “Does that turn you on when I say that?” #Yikes

Babygirl will hit theaters on Christmas day (December 25), just in time for a pre-New Years movie day.
