Hilderbrand, who's been called "the queen of beach reads" by New York Magazine, published The Perfect Couple in summer of 2018. In case you haven't read it (or watched the series), here's the gist: It's Nantucket wedding season, and the lavish Otis-Winbury wedding promises to be a showstopper. But then, tragedy strikes when a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor just hours before the ceremony.
Suddenly, everyone in the wedding party is a suspect—including the groom's famous mystery-novelist mother (played by Kidman). It's thrilling, twisty and will keep you guessing until the last page. Also, for existing fans of Hilderbrand's, the novel features beloved characters from her other books including The Castaways, Beautiful Day and A Summer Affair.
With more than 26,000 glowing reviews on Amazon, it's safe to say readers can't get enough of this title. One writes, "I truly enjoyed reading this book...which explains why I completed it in one lazy afternoon. I changed my mind several times about who, how, why...and, even when I thought I had figured it out, I still didn't have the complete picture. Hildebrand has done it again!"
So in case you don't already count yourself among Hilderbrand's legions of fans, might I recommend picking up this page-turner before—or after—watching Kidman, Schreiber and a talented ensemble cast (including Bad Sisters's Eve Hewson and The White Lotus's Meghann Fahy) on Netflix?
