Happy October! I think I can speak for all of us when I say the last few weeks have been a blur. The lunar eclipse in Pisces on the 17th brought some big feelings—all necessary, but some more destabilizing and confusing than others. Thankfully, this week’s Mercury cazimi on the 30th followed by a solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd is a chance to strip away all that emotional muck. This is the final eclipse in Libra for many years, and will wrap up a story that began in October 2023 and continued in March 2024. How have you grown through releasing what no longer feels good over the last year?

We’re emerging from the pit of unknowns and entering the calm after the storm. Vitality is low, so go easy on your body and mind as you enter the recuperation process. Trust what’s being affirmed right now. What if it all worked out?

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign too will provide further insight.)

2 Things You Should Never Say to a Virgo

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

If you’ve been avoiding a breakup or a breakdown, you’re forced to go deep into the heart of the matter this week. Defining a relationship is difficult and walking away from one is even harder, but as you face this fear, you’re also getting one step closer to healing. The solar eclipse on the 2nd is your invitation to release a connection that’s no longer serving you as you build a stronger foundation for your life.

This week’s mantra: “Goodbye.”

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

This week’s solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd brings a definitive ending (which is also a beginning) for your work and daily routines. Whether it’s your last day on the job, first day at the gym, or next step on a health journey, you’re clearing away the muck so that you can live a healthier and more satisfying life. Remember that you don’t have to do this alone either! Supportive friends and lovers want to help you.

This week’s mantra: “Enhance.”

Cheeky illustration of identical twins with long dark hair and a statement earrings back-to-back, smirking at each other.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd is a defining moment for your creative and romantic life. Since last October you’ve been in a process of stripping away toxic dating habits, redefining your artistic practice, and finding a solid outlet for your sense of play. A sweet message from a new friend or lover on the 30th affirms that you don’t need anything you’ve already left behind.

This week’s mantra: “Transcend.”

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

This week’s solar eclipse in Libra brings a story that’s been playing out in your home and family life over the last year to a conclusion. Whether you’ve been adjusting to shifting caretaking duties, considering a change of location, or spending time in isolation to heal, this week brings a clarifying revelation about what your next moves should be. The first step is choosing where you want to build a foundation.

This week’s mantra: “Choose.”

Cheeky illustration of a woman of Asian-descent wearing a sheer coral top with her hair half-up in pigtail puns, the rest down. She is hugging a lion, who is smirking.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Since last October you’ve been dealing with the very particular heartbreak of losing a friend. Though friendship breakups don’t have the same place in the societal script as romantic breakups, they’re often just as—if not more—painful. The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd brings a sharp reminder about a close connection that you’ve lost, but it also brings gratitude for your close circle that remains.

This week’s mantra: “Grateful.”

Cheeky illustration with a light blue background of a woman wearing a coral shirt coyly poking out from behind her hands.

Virgo (August 23 - September 23)

If you’re struggling with money, oh Virgo, you’re not alone. Everyone’s feeling stretched thin in this economy, but you in particular have been dealing with real financial strain since eclipses kicked off in Libra last October. The solar eclipse on the 2nd brings this story of scarcity to a conclusion as you stabilize your income and look ahead to new money making opportunities. At the very least: you’ve learned how to treat yourself on a budget.

This week’s mantra: “Thrift.”

Libra (September 23 - October 21)

You’ve been on an incredible journey over the past year, Libra. You’re learning that being your true self doesn’t please everyone else, and for the first time in a long time, you don’t care what anyone else thinks. You’re finding the courage to be your authentic self. The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd brings this story to a satisfying conclusion. Despite the overall glow up, you’re probably also feeling run down and exhausted, make sure you stay hydrated and take time to rest and recover this week.

This week’s mantra: “Define.”

680x400 Scorpio@2x

Scorpio (October 22 - November 21)

The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd is an opportunity to take a step back, reflect and rest. In fact, this week you might do your best work in your dreams or while taking what I like to call a “working nap.” For the next several months, you’re going to be readjusting your relationship to travel, education, and leadership. Retreat this week so you can see the big picture. You don’t have to figure everything out at once.

This week’s mantra: “Panorama.”

Cheeky illustration of a Black woman with purple hair on an orange background. She's in a wearing jean jacket, with a quiver strapped across her back and arrows sticking out.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

This week’s solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd brings an ongoing struggle to an amicable (even friendly!) conclusion. Over the last year, you’ve been having a hard time “fitting in” with groups that used to make you feel at home. You’ve become way more picky about who you open up to and share space with. RSVPing “No” to that bad friend’s birthday party is a symbol for how much you’ve grown.

This week’s mantra: “Dismiss.”

A cheeky image of a woman of color with dark hair holding a pink goat by the horns. The background is pink and her shirt is darker pink.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd marks both a major beginning and a major ending for your career and public life. Since last October, you’ve been carving out a new professional space for yourself, and in the process have gotten a lot more specific about your role and what kind of work you want to do. It’s healing to walk away from an opportunity that’s no longer aligned. Even if a previous version of you would’ve loved to take part.

This week’s mantra: “Simplify.”

Cheeky image of a Black woman with blue hair on a light blue background. She's holding blue water in her palms, which is bubbling up and taking shape as her hair.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

The solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd brings the adventure of the last year to a satisfying conclusion. Since last October you’ve been redefining your relationship to travel, education and spirituality. Along the way you’ve had to let go of tired beliefs and embrace some new ones. Your journey has also majorly inspired many around you. Part of what’s next is stepping into a leadership position and sharing what you’ve learned.

This week’s mantra: “Power.”

Cheeky illustration of a gender-fluid white person with short-cropped orange hair. They're wearing a light blue halter top as two bright pink koi fish circle their head.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

This week’s solar eclipse in Libra brings an ongoing negotiation to a bittersweet but satisfying close. Since last October you’ve been dealing with all kinds of loss, debt and collaboration, and as you come out on the other side, you’re realizing that though you didn’t get what you want … you perhaps got what you need? Having less doesn’t mean you’re worth less. In this case, it means you’ve developed stronger boundaries and priorities.

This week’s mantra: “Strong.”
