As an astrologer, my clients come to me asking about two things: money and relationships. And in life, what else do we really need beyond feeling loved and supported? Though there are many ways to tease out how these topics play out in the birth chart, there’s one planet that has a lot of sway over both our balance in our bank accounts and our dating prospects. That of course is Venus. Venus is the planet of love, beauty and connection. She rules over sweetness (of both fruits of the earth and flirtation), as well as music, art, style and all things sensuality. Venus is a master strategist, and to ancient astrologers, she, like Mars, was also a god of war. (“Why does love always feel like a battlefield?” - Jordin Sparks) True love, like beauty and the best kinds of conflict, requires a strong will and a sharp mind.
Venus takes about a calendar year to travel through the zodiac, spending three to four weeks in each sign. There are the signs where she feels at home (Taurus and Libra), other signs where she feels like a VIP guest (Pisces), and still others where she can be a bit H-O-T-T-O-G-O (Aries and Scorpio). Then there’s Venus in Virgo, the sign where Venus is said to be in her fall, or: a fish out of water. But what does being in fall really mean? Is the orderly and practical earth sign of the literal maiden really such a bad place for the planet of love to be? As an astrologer, I think there’s a lot to love about Venus in Virgo. Being in her fall doesn’t mean she’s out of commission. Let’s get into what Venus in Virgo means for every zodiac sign.
