I Vacationed Like a RHOBH—and I’m Pretty Sure it Spoiled Me for Good

Channeling my inner Jennifer Tilly

Do I want to be a Real Housewife? Aside from the endless supply of wine, it’s a no for me. Do I want to vacation like a Real Housewife? Now, that’s another question entirely.

For those who aren’t caught up on the current season, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have just arrived at fabulous Saint Lucia for their latest cast trip. More specifically, they’re staying at the Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences.

I had the good fortune of traveling to Windjammer Landing for a luxurious four-night stay filled with experiences just like those the Housewives took part in. And let me tell you, though there wasn’t the same level of drama (or tears from Sutton), I had one of the best vacations of my life. I’m talking spa treatments, a private butler, next-level accommodations with a private pool and breathtaking views, five-star meals and all the sun and sand I could hope for.

Welcome to Paradise…

The one-of-a-kind resort occupies 65-acres of hillside land overlooking crystal clear waters. According to Nick Prattas, Managing Director of Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences, “Over the last 30 years, we've developed a resort program that makes every guest feel like a VIP.”

But what about those Housewives? He continued, “Having these Real Housewives legends stay in our Ocean Point Residences truly highlights the luxury experience we've created through our recent renovations. It was a pleasure to introduce the group to Saint Lucia, share our vibrant culture with them, and offer them the chance to experience traditional Carnival costumes, Soca music, and delicious local cuisine prepared by our chefs.”

So How Does a Housewife Vacation?

Well, just like them, I stayed in a private villa complete with ocean views and an exclusive terrace. With an all-inclusive package, I didn’t hold back eating and drinking at the seven on-site restaurants or through my very own in-villa dining. Glass of prosecco and some fries before bed? Yes, please!

I also spent time at Serene Spa, where a number of services are offered. I took advantage of a full-body massage that left me relaxed and ready for dinner and drinks out among the stars.

And while anyone who stays at Windjammer is likely to enjoy a level of Housewives treatment, those who truly want to spoil themselves can opt for the decadent RHOBH Getaway Package, with villas starting at $7,646 per night. Hey, if it’s good enough for Dorit…

What’s the Best Part of Vacationing Like a Housewife?

Honestly, it has to be the Windjammer Landing options. Am I feeling a pool day? I loved grabbing an iced americano from the stunning open air lobby and sipping it by the pool (where the water is warm enough for me to actually go in). Am I feeling a beach side lounger with waiter service? I spent more than one afternoon drinking margaritas while steps from the ocean. Am I feeling a catamaran or even a banana boat ride? I did both—and the catamaran is a must

Seriously. While enjoying all that Windjammer has to offer, be sure to take in a sunset sail, complete with cocktails, fun music and views of the sunset unlike any I’ve seen before. And for those who aren’t that adventurous, fear not. It’s a slow, relaxing sail that even the sea-averse will enjoy.

I’ll Definitely Be Back

Saint Lucia is a truly special place. On the scenic drive from the airport, ask your driver to stop along the way for photos or to bring you to a local bakery for some freshly made brick oven bread. And once on property at Windjammer Landing, switch off your laptop and leave your cell in your villa. While the oceanfront homes are beautiful, I recommend opting for a villa up on the hill—who doesn’t want to end each day with a view like that?!

And if, like me, you enjoy a drama-free week, Saint Lucia might just be for you. And if, like Sutton, you enjoy a drama-filled week, I’m sure you can squeeze in an argument or two between sunsets.
