The Details
Who Should You Bring?
Everyone and anyone. Private terraces, outdoor showers and fireplaces and a private hot tub scream couples getaway, while daily farm walks, hiking and two-bedroom cottages are ideal for families. But if you want to enjoy a reiki session and some pressed flower pottery and have a little solo break, then that’s cool too.
What's the Food Like?
The main restaurant, Clay, features high quality ingredients with a fantastic chef at the helm serving up farm to table, innovative dishes. And we’re serious about the farm part—the eggs come straight from the chickens on-site. Guests also have the option to enjoy light breakfasts, afternoon bites and bar snacks on the Great Porch, an open-air space featuring breathtaking views of the Shawangunk Ridge. But what should you order? Start the day with the breakfast sandwich (featuring those farm fresh eggs) and/or cinnamon bun. For dinner, we loved the milk bread (featuring summer tomato, miso smalec, maldon), the strozzapreti pasta (cacio e pepe) and the ribeye steak (with peppercorn, white bean chimichurri and melted onion).
Did You Get a Good Night’s Sleep?
The rooms are quiet and dark, and the beds are comfortable and cozy. You truly won’t hear a peep! To really get you into a sleepy state, take advantage of the deep soak bathtubs and plush towel and bathrobes.
What Amenities Are Available?
Thistle, the on-site spa, features an indoor saltwater pool, two outdoor meadow hot tubs, a dry sauna and an herbal steam room. And then there’s the luxe and herbal-focused spa treatment menu, featuring facials, massages (the massage with Natasha was top notch), microdermabrasion and more. There’s also an expansive fitness and movement studio offering daily classes like yoga, pilates and meditation, plus complimentary morning movement sessions every day (hatha flow, breathwork, forest immersion).
The kids loved feeding chickens at the farm in the morning and then playing in the playground with the zipline. In the evenings, wood chopping and s’mores around the fire were fun for the whole family.
Unfortunately, during our visit, Maplehouse, a farm education center, wasn’t quite ready yet, which is where hands-on classes and a cooking school will take place.
How Was the Service?
Very attentive. The staff are looking to please with a smile on their face at all times. They were always willing to pick us up in a golf cart to take us anywhere on property.
What Was Your Favorite Part?
For the kids, feeding the chickens and bringing the eggs to the kitchen to have the chef cook fresh eggs was a real highlight. For the adults, the spa was incredible. And for all of us, sitting by the fireplace on the Great Porch and looking out at the views was unbeatable.
Know Before You Go
Wildflower Farms opened its doors in October 2022 but it’s already receiving rave reviews and booking up fast—something to keep in mind if you’re planning to visit in the coming weeks. And while all seasons here would be beautiful, there really is something magical about fall.
