SUV fan? With the BMW iX, you get all the benefits of an electric and more space. The interior is both minimalist and meticulously designed. And since it’s all in the details, here’s a few: The inside has an open-pore wood finish, glass controls and a freestanding curved display that extends halfway across the dashboard and appears as though it’s floating. If that wasn’t fancy enough, there are liquid crystals embedded in the Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof for an instantaneous shading effect. Stargaze from the comfort of your seats, upholstered in a choice of sustainable materials like quilted olive-leaf tanned leather, microfiber and wool blend, and Perforated SensaTec.
Secret Agent Vibes
So the iX looks cool, but it also has something called ShyTech, i.e. invisible intelligence that can be found in little details throughout. On the exterior, we’re talking an intelligent kidney grille (housing advanced sensors, cameras and radar technology), a rear-view camera (hidden in the black ring of the BMW roundel or emblem) and more. The interior has speakers hidden behind acoustic fabric, radiant heat in the dash and door panels, visually minimized buttons and controls, and touch-sensitive surfaces in the open-pore wood.
All this and the iX has an up to 300-mile range, spacious tailgate for all your gear, dual electric motors with all-wheel drive, and it can go 0-60 mph in as quick as 3.6 seconds. Phew.
