Don’t Cancel Your Happy Hour or Game Night, Just Host It Virtually on the Houseparty App

houseparty app

Bummed you can’t meet up with your closest pals for happy hour? Look no further than Houseparty, a popular new app that was practically made for social distancing.

Houseparty is a social networking service that was specifically designed to host large groups via video chat. Users can not only share their screen with their friends, but they can also play games directly through the app (like Heads Up! and Chips & Guac), which means Aunt Kathy won’t be able to cheat during family game night…again.

To join the fun, all you need to do is download the Houseparty app to your mobile device and create an account. After inviting and/or adding friends, you’ll be able to virtually connect face-to-face (well, sorta) with other users. Every time you log in, the app will automatically alert your friends that you’re online, giving them the opportunity to jump into the conversation (or not).

According to the app’s official description, “Houseparty is truly the next best thing to hanging out in person.”

Sure, a virtual happy hour isn’t exactly the same as an in-person one, but it might just be the thing to get you through all this social distancing.

Houseparty, here we come.
