This Is Ina Garten’s Foolproof Technique for Non-Alcoholic Cocktails That Don’t Suck
Rum-Less Rum Punch
Katherine Gillen
Let’s be frank: Most mocktail recipes suck. Just because we’re not boozing doesn’t mean we want a glass of store-bought lemonade with a splash of seltzer. Let’s put a little more effort into that alcohol-free cocktail, no? This rum-less rum punch is honestly just as easy to make as that lemonade, but the combination of sweet and tart flavors tastes way more special. Serve it over ice with a splash of sparkling water for a refreshing highball or pour it into pretty cocktail glasses to feel like you’re sipping something a little more potent.
Ingredients
½ cup pineapple juice
½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from 3 to 4 limes)
¼ cup orange juice
½ ounce grenadine
Club soda, as needed (optional)
Lime wheels, to garnish
Directions
1. In a large cocktail shaker, combine the pineapple juice, lime juice, orange juice and grenadine with ice. Shake until very cold, about 30 seconds. (Psst: If you don’t have a shaker, stirring the ingredients together will also suffice. It just won’t be as cold.)
2. Divide the drink evenly between two cocktail glasses. Top with a splash of club soda, if desired. Garnish with lime wheels before serving.
