Italian Sangria Cocktail
A warm afternoon calls for a refreshing drink, so we're teaming up with Aida Mollenkamp of Salt & Wind to perfect our cocktail game this summer. Made with Italian rosé and the bittersweet Italian aperitif Cocchi Americano, this summery twist on classic sangria has fresh peaches and tons of strawberries.
Ingredients
One 750-milliliter bottle chilled dry rosé wine or Italian rosato wine
½ cup Cointreau or other orange liqueur
⅓ cup Cocchi Americano or brandy
2 firm, ripe peaches, cut into 8 pieces
1 pint strawberries, hulled and halved, plus more for garnish
½ cup chilled club soda
Ice cubes
Directions
1. In a pitcher, combine the wine, orange liqueur, Cocchi Americano, the peaches and half of the strawberries.
2. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (and up to 24 hours).
3. Add the club soda and a few fresh strawberries. Serve immediately over ice.
