Black Bean Hummus

This modern take on traditional hummus is a little spicy, a little savory and beyond easy to make, thanks to canned beans. Break out a bowl of black bean hummus at your next cocktail party and watch it disappear like magic.


Ingredients

4 cups canned black beans, drained

¼ cup fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons tahini

⅓ cup extra-virgin olive oil

2 garlic cloves, smashed

1¼ teaspoons chili powder

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Pita chips, tortilla chips, crackers or chopped vegetables, for serving

Directions

1. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the black beans, lime juice, tahini, olive oil, garlic and chili powder.

2. Puree until smooth; season with salt and pepper.

3. Serve with your choice of chips, crackers and veggies.
