Much like sleep training and figuring out how to work a NoseFrida, breastfeeding is one of those aspects of early motherhood that no one really prepares you for. More specifically, for how incredibly hard it is.
In a new video on her YouTube channel, The Hills alum Whitney Port is speaking out about just how shockingly—and heartbreakingly—tough it gets.
The latest installment in her I Love My Baby But…[Close up space] video series is called “I Love My Baby But I Haven’t Loved Breastfeeding That Much,” and here Port gets very real about the intense pressure from other moms to breastfeed, as well as the debilitating physical pain of it. “Because of how painful it’s been, I’ve sort of demonized breastfeeding in my head...and now the thought of doing it is dreadful almost,” Port says, while wiping away tears. Oh girl...
In a departure from her usual polish, Port appears for the segment in a baggy hoodie, messy ponytail and no-makeup face with red-rimmed eyes. In our filter-perfect world of Instagram and mommy blogs, it’s refreshing to see a celeb drawing attention to the stuff that nobody likes to document.
