In the trailer, Meyer kicks off her presidential campaign alongside her trustworthy assistant, Gary (Tony Hale).
To no surprise, the competition is steep. And by “competition,” we mean Meyer’s opposition Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simons), who is still as awkward as ever. Highlights include trying (and failing) to console a baby and proving that he’s incapable of eating a corn dog like a normal human being.
HBO announced the final season of Veep back in 2017. Although production was initially delayed due to Louis-Dreyfus’s breast cancer diagnosis, the actress returned to set after undergoing treatment and celebrated the news by sharing a table read photo on Instagram.
Veep originally premiered in 2012 on HBO. The series also stars Anna Chlumsky (Amy Brookheimer), Reid Scott (Dan Egan), Matt Walsh (Mike Mclintock), Sufe Bradshaw (Sue Wilson), Gary Cole (Kent Davison) and Kevin Dunn (Ben Cafferty).
Regardless of the outcome, she has our vote. The seventh and final season of Veep premieres on Sunday, March 31, on HBO.
