This news has us screaming, “Yeah!”

Early this morning, the NFL announced that Usher will headline the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, presented by Apple Music.

The announcement was made on the official NFL Instagram account, with a message that read: “USHER. LAS VEGAS. APPLE MUSIC HALFTIME SHOW. #SBLVIII See you on February 11 on @NFLonCBS!”

In a comical marketing move, a series of videos were posted that used the beginning of Usher’s “Confessions Part II” music video to reveal the big news.

The original video starts out with Usher answering a phone call and discovering that his mistress is pregnant. However, this segment was edited together with new videos featuring celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Deion Sanders and even Usher himself, treating the phone call like they’re talking about the Super Bowl.

“Whoever suggested using the Confessions interlude for the announcement deserves all the raises,” one user commented. Another fan wrote, “Sooooo good!!! The marketing is A1!!!!”

This won't be the first time that Usher takes the stage during the Super Bowl.

Back in 2011, when the Black Eyed Peas headlined the Super Bowl XLV show, they had Usher join them for a performance of “OMG” with will.i.am.

Usher expressed his excitement about the gig in a new statement, courtesy of ESPN, where he said: “It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I'll see you real soon.”

After Rihanna revealed that she was pregnant with her second child during the 2023 show, we can't wait to see what surprises Usher has in store.
