Travis Kelce Responds to Reporter Asking About Possible Taylor Swift Engagement with Ring Reference

As Travis Kelce and the rest of his Kansas City Chiefs teammates count down the days to the 2024 Super Bowl (which takes place on February 11), the tight end only has one goal on his mind: winning that championship ring. 

On February 5, the 34-year-old athlete participated in a press conference. When a reporter asked the football player if he was thinking about “another ring” (aka an engagement ring for girlfriend Taylor Swift) aside from the one he hopes to win on Super Bowl Sunday, Kelce gave an honest answer. 

“I’m focused on getting this ring,” he told reporters, referring to the championship ring. “That’s all my mind is focused on right now.”

Rumors of an imminent engagement between Kelce and Swift started circulating after Page Six published an article in December 2023 stating that the Kansas City Chiefs player supposedly asked the “Cruel Summer” singer’s father, Scott Swift, permission to ask for her hand in marriage. According to the outlet, there’s a rumored engagement ring in question. (Obviously, this is all speculation, so we’re taking things with a huge grain of salt.)

During the press conference, Kelce never confirmed whether or not there is an engagement ring coming in the near future. Instead, he praised his girlfriend’s big night at the 2024 Grammys, where she won Album of the Year for the fourth time.

“She's unbelievable,” Kelce said. “She’s re-writing the history books herself, and I told her I'd have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware too.”
