I can’t pretend to relate to the demanding schedules of the rich and famous, but I can say that I’d be pretty peeved if my boyfriend missed my birthday for a work event. Which may be why fans of Taylor Swift have been searching high and low for evidence of whether or not the singer was with boyfriend Travis Kelce at a Chiefs holiday party on December 13—aka her 35th birthday.
Camera Captures Travis Kelce at Christmas Party on Taylor Swift’s Bday—And Swifties All Have One Big Question
Was Taylor there?
While usually I’d advise significant others to skip the company holiday party in favor of celebrating their partner, the event proved to be an important night for Kelce, beyond getting to cheers to the new year with his teammates. In an Instagram reel posted to Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt’s account, Kelce can be seen walking on stage to join Chiefs co-owner and CEO Clark Hunt.
At the party, Hunt named Kelce as the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. “He consistently uses his platform for good, so it’s my honor to my great honor to recognize Travis Kelce,” Hunt announced to the crowd. Seems like a decent enough excuse to have to postpone a lavish birthday celebration.
Swift and the NFL superstar have been dating for almost a year and a half now, so safe to say things are pretty serious between the two. According to Page Six, sources close to Kelce have specifically noted that he wants to make this birthday celebration extra special for Swift as a milestone year. Despite his apparent months of planning, he may need to step things up after the week she’s had.
The night before her birthday, Swift made history as the most decorated Billboard Music Awards artist of all time, winning ten trophies at this year’s awards. The new additions brought her total win count to 49, finally putting her ahead of the second-most decorated artist, Drake, who has 42 award wins.
And day of—before Kelce even had a chance to post his own birthday shoutout—the official NFL TikTok account posted a birthday video in honor of Swift, with clips of her numerous game day appearances.
Only time will tell what plans the tight end had in store to make Taylor’s 35th birthday feel truly spectacular (fingers crossed we get at least some details from Swift). But based on his previous dedication to honoring other milestone moments—like the end of her Eras Tour—I’m willing to bet he pulled out all the stops to make this a one-of-a-kind celebration.
