Tracee Ellis Ross Shares Teaser for Brand-New Podcast Series ‘I Am America’

Whether she’s making us laugh with her onscreen antics or creating her own hair care brand Pattern Beauty, Tracee Ellis Ross always stays busy. And now, she has another passion project she wants to share with the world.

Last week, the 50-year-old actress shared an exclusive first look at her new podcast, I Am America. The teaser video featured the banner design for the show and an interview segment taken from when she appeared on Good Morning America and talked about the upcoming series in great detail.

“I find that listening to these podcasts that we created, these stories, it’s like sitting and having the best dinner conversation with somebody that you don’t know,” she said in one part of the video, posted on Instagram.

The Black-ish star went on to tease what listeners should expect from her new podcast series, saying it’s dedicated to the “hidden angels” of America. Ross continued, “It’s a tapestry of humanity that is filled with people who define and redefine their own identity outside of what society says they are [and] a sense of community and the possibility of who you can be when you lean into those things.”

Her followers flocked to the comments section to share their excitement. One person wrote, “Yes!! Can’t wait to listen,” alongside a hand-clapping emoji. Another shared the same sentiment, writing, “I’m so excited for this! You inspire me.”

Produced by Dear Media and Joy Mill Entertainment, the first episode of I Am America made its grand debut last week. On Instagram, Dear Media shared a sneak peek teaser from the first episode, where Ross had a chance to talk to former businessman turned elementary school volunteer in Harlem, Tony Hillery.

I Am America is now available to listen to on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

And we’ll be listening, Tracee!
