From delivering award-winning performances to being Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet is known for many things. But his status as an A-list actor doesn’t grant him every privilege—especially when it comes to the law.

Earlier this week, the 29-year-old actor made headlines when he arrived on a bike to the London premiere of his new film, A Complete Unknown. Chalamet revealed that he was stuck in traffic and didn’t want to be late, so he snagged a ride on a public green-and-white Lime bike.

The last-minute decision made for a good story—that is, until Chalamet received a ticket for his cycling excursion. Why, you may ask? Well, he illegally parked the bike when he arrived at the premiere, and it resulted in a £65 (about $79) fine.

According to Us Magazine, Chalamet discussed the incident during a TV interview on the French show Quotidien. “There was a traffic jam and I actually wasn’t allowed to park there, and I got a £65 fine,” he said. “And actually it’s horrible because it was an advert for them.”

A Complete Unknown is currently playing in theaters, and it has already earned Chalamet multiple nominations during awards season for his portrayal of Bob Dylan. Based on the book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald, the musical covers the first few years of the musician’s career.

In her honest review, PureWow editor Abby Hepworth wrote, “If all you hope to take away from A Complete Unknown is a fresh interest in folk music and a desire to look up and listen to the music of Dylan, Baez, Cash, Seeger and more folk artists such as Woody Guthrie, then you’ll likely have a great time bopping along to the hits throughout the film.”

Lesson learned.
