After 21 months of statement-making concerts, Taylor Swift finally wrapped the record-breaking Eras Tour earlier this month. Amid all the sparkly outfits and rain delays, the 35-year-old singer still found time to attend NFL games, where she displayed a major shift in body language while supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce

And then on December 12 (the day before her 35th birthday), Swift surprised patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she met the patients and their families, posed for photos and chatted about her boyfriend’s team, the Chiefs. The staff was so touched by the unexpected visit, they shared a special video on Instagram to celebrate Swift’s birthday—and to say it tugs at the heartstrings is a massive understatement.

The video began with a voiceover of the kids singing happy birthday, along with a message that read: “Thank you for visiting us, Taylor! Wishing you a very happy birthday from everyone here at Children's Mercy Kansas City!”

The clip went on to show personal video messages from the children she visited. “Happy birthday, Taylor!” one patient said. “It was special for you to come and visit me because I’ve always been kind of just a normal, outcast kid. So for you to come and visit me, it makes me know that I’m not just a kid and I’m somebody special.”

The video concluded with the staff sharing their gratitude. “We love all the support that your Swifties are showing us,” a voiceover added, referring to the hospital’s increase in donations since Swift’s visit. “And we know that’s because of you.”

“We can’t shake it off—the excitement, smiles and laughter that filled our halls yesterday as @TaylorSwift visited patients in Kansas City,” the caption read. “Helping kids feel special, cared for and at their best is what we aim to do, and Taylor, you made that possible.”

It continued, “Thank you and happy birthday from all your fans at Children’s Mercy!”

What an honor.
