Just because Game of Thrones aired its final episode more than two years ago doesn’t mean Sophie Turner has forgotten all about her breakout character, Sansa Stark.
It all started earlier this week when Just Jared obtained photos of the 25-year-old actress at a baseball game with her husband, Joe Jonas. Turner channeled Sansa Stark by sporting bright red hair, which is a big change from her recent blonde locks.
Turner confirmed the makeover on her Instagram Story, where she shared a selfie of her new Olivia Rodrigo merch, which is already sold out. The photo shows the actress posing in the bathroom mirror and shielding her face with her phone, which is framed by her brand-new red hair.
This is a pretty big deal, since Turner hasn’t had the fiery color since 2019. Not only did she rock ginger locks for Game of Thrones, but she also donned it for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
As Elle points out, there’s a good chance that Turner’s makeover isn’t for a personal reason, but a professional one. You see, the actress is set to star in HBO’s upcoming true-crime series, The Staircase, which is based on the 2004 documentary on Netflix.
The story begins in 2001 when Michael Peterson (Colin Firth) is accused and charged with murdering his wife, Kathleen (Toni Collette), who was found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Turner is playing Michael’s adopted daughter, Margaret Ratliff. There are several theories about what actually happened, since Michael has claimed innocence from day one.
