Sophie Turner Volunteers to Play Miranda in ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot

Sophie Turner is setting her eyes on a brand-new role. (And no, it has nothing to do with Game of Thrones.)

Last night, the 23-year-old actress shared a series of videos on her Instagram Story, in which she explained why she should portray Miranda Sanchez in the Lizzie McGuire reboot.

In the video, Turner volunteers to play Lizzie’s best friend. Although the role was originally portrayed by Lalaine, she isn’t involved in the remake (as far as we know.)

“Is Miranda appearing in this season? Because I’m here. I’m available. I am your new Miranda,” Turner says in the clip (screenshot above). “Lizzie McGuire people, please reach out to me.”

The actress is referring to the highly anticipated Lizzie McGuire reboot, which was recently put on hold by Disney+ after the series creator, Terri Minsky, stepped down as showrunner.

“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson told People. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the series.”

Turner went on to address the elephant in the room, claiming she’s “obviously devastated” by the news. Still, maybe a new Miranda is just the thing to get the show back in production.

Now that’s what dreams are made of.
