Simone Biles Marks First Wedding Anniversary with Touching Instagram Post

Take it from Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles: Marrying your best friend is the best. 

On April 22, the 26-year-old athlete marked her first wedding anniversary with a celebratory Instagram slideshow that featured an array of photos of her and her husband, Jonathan Owens, 28. 

The first slide is a blurry snap of the happily married couple walking hand-in-hand outside of the courthouse, where they obtained their marriage license before having their second wedding (a destination wedding) in May 2023.

In the photo, Biles is wearing one of her four wedding dresses while beaming next to her hubby, who is sporting a tan suit and white loafers. Meanwhile, the rest of the post features not one, but two pics of the pair taken during their many couple photoshoots. 

In the caption, the gymnast wrote, “This is your sign to marry your best friend. Happy 1st anniversary [wedding emojis] I’m excited for many more to come. I wish I could marry you a million times more! I love you so much!”

On April 22, 2023, Biles and Owens announced that they had officially tied the knot on social media. At the time, Biles shared photos from their first wedding ceremony on Instagram, including a pic of Owens pumping his fist into the air Breakfast Club style. 

Biles, who is standing right next to him, smiles widely while holding a bouquet from Bramble & Bee. “I do [white heart emoji] officially owens [white heart emoji],” she wrote in the caption and even tagged her photographer, Raetay Photography.
