In fact, the 23 time Grand Slam winner in women’s singles graced our Instagram earlier this week with a stylish update this fashion editor needed.
The venture capitalist and mother of two captioned it, “Walking in Paris…no one makes me feel the way you do,” referring to the host city of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Williams, who’s won four gold Olympic medals herself, has been showing her support to many of this year’s stellar American athletes, like Coco Gauff, Simone Biles, Ilona Maher, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Noah Lyles, to name a few.
While I’ve been riveted by the athletes’ individual competitive sets these past couple of weeks, it was this particular athlete who really wowed me with her fashion sense, showing off her elevated style in a sleeveless button-down collared shirt by Japanese fashion label Sacai, which boasts these incredible elongated slits along the front and back. She posted a few images of the blouse in motion, demonstrating its fluidity while she struts along the streets of Paris. If you look closely, you can see the black mesh overlay contrasted against the white fabric on the interior for a striking juxtaposition. (Details, people!)
And I’m certainly no stranger to the many off-the-court-slays of Serena Williams, most recently *that* unforgettable Gucci power suit she wore while in Milan, Italy for Milan Fashion Week. Today’s lesson: Wear it like Williams.
From corporate-core to tenniscore, the athlete certainly knows how to dominate every outfit she wears on and off the court.
