Serena Williams long ago added the title of “fashion icon” to her ever-so-long list of achievements. And now, she’s reminding us why.

Last week, the proud mom of two got all dressed up to attend the 2023 CFDA Awards in New York City, where she was presented with the Fashion Icon Award by reality show star Kim Kardashian

On Instagram, the tennis star, 42, shared photos of her entire outfit. One photo in the slideshow shows Williams facing away from the camera, and the back of her dress is on full display. The custom-made sequin dress (designed by CFDA Chairman Thom Browne) features a beautiful corset design with black, red and white ribbon.

Meanwhile, her honey-blonde hair is braided into a ponytail, with the same color ribbon wrapped around her long locks.

And the snaps that followed showcase the Grand Slam champ’s entire ensemble. She accessorized the look with a David Yurman necklace/earring set and an Audemars Piguet wristwatch.

In the caption, Williams wrote, “What an honor to accept the Fashion Icon Award from @cfda [stars emoji it was an incredible evening.”

Williams shared another photo slideshow on her page, showing a small glimpse inside her glam sesh. In one photo, the tennis athlete is looking downward while her team surrounds her. She captioned the post, “My night out with @cfda continued…”

In her acceptance speech, she talked about her love for fashion. “I explored fashion and style as a way to distinguish myself. In many ways for me, the tennis courts became my runway,” the professional athlete said.

Williams added, “I designed skirts out of denim, and I wore purple tutus and bodysuits and put beads in my hair, and braids. It was really just a fun time for me.”

This latest outing just so happens to be the first big event Williams has attended since giving birth to her second daughter, Adira, back in August. Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, announced the exciting news on Instagram. Alongside a photo of the new family of four, he wrote in the caption, “Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama.

He continued, “Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter [prayer emoji] I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”

Congrats on your big win, Serena!
