See Sean Penn & a Surprising Co-Star in New Movie Trailer (Spoiler Alert: It's His Daughter, Dylan)

Many celebrities know how exciting it can be to act alongside their family. Vin Diesel recently starred in the new Fast & Furious installment, F9, with his son, Vincent Sinclair. Meanwhile, we just learned that Virgin River star Colin Lawrence filmed a steamy scene in Fifty Shades Darker with his wife, Lucia Walters.

Now, another actor is joining in on the fun. Sean Penn stars in the upcoming drama Flag Day with a co-star he knows pretty well: his daughter, Dylan.

Penn's oldest child started out as a model, before nabbing roles in movies like Condemned and Elvis & Nixon. Now, she will star as Jennifer Vogel, the daughter of con artist John Vogel (played by Penn).

The first official trailer depicts the complicated relationship portrayed by the two Penn family members. “[My father] came and went from our lives, but he always made me feel like part of a bigger world,” Dylan says in the clip.

Flag Day is based on a true story, which was recounted by Jennifer Vogel in her memoir, Flim-Flam Man: The True Story of My Father's Counterfeit Life. Besides starring in the film, Sean Penn also directed the adaptation of Vogel's narrative, while the screenplay was written by Jeremy "Jez" Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari).

When the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Penn's daughter posted a shot with her father, as well as their co-star, Katheryn Winnick, at the event. Dylan said, “Last night was a dream. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! I am forever grateful.”

We can't wait to see father and daughter together on the big screen. Flag Day hits theaters August 20.
