Could the staff of Sacred Heart Hospital be getting back together? It seems quite likely, according to a new interview with the creator of Scrubs, Bill Lawrence.

Lawrence chatted with Variety about the possibility of a Scrubs reunion, months after the cast showed interest in a revival film or something of the sort. “I think it’s inevitable that it happens,” Lawrence told reporter Emily Longeretta. “The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don’t hang out, we’ll end up doing a Scrubs reunion.”

Lawrence told Longeretta that the cast has remained close since the show's ending in 2010, getting together for public events, like festivals, as well as intimate gatherings, like dinners together. However, they still haven't found the right time to film a Scrubs revival.

“In the greatest way, the cast of [Scrubs] and the writers are so good that they’re all working,” Lawrence explained. “And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out.”

Scrubs ran from 2001 to 2010, with a total of 182 episodes across 9 seasons. During its run, it was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards, winning two.

Since the show's end, the main cast have gone on to do other major projects, with Zach Braff exploring more directing (A Good Person), Donald Faison having a lead role in the show The Exes and Sarah Chalke currently starring in Firefly Lane. Meanwhile, Lawrence has created a number of other hit comedies, including Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Cougar Town and more.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed that Lawrence can get this cast together, because we need a reunion special.
