Sarah Michelle Gellar is here to slay—and I'm not talking about vampires and demons.
On Instagram, the 47-year-old actress alerted fans that "Summer Sarah has arrived," complete with a glamorous poolside photo at Green Valley Ranch Resort. Gellar is seen posing in swimwear, a see-through crochet cover-up from Loft and matching sandals. To complete the look, the actress accessorized with sunglasses and large golden hoop earrings. (Something tells me that Jenny from the Block would approve.)
One fan commented, "Summer Sarah is my favorite." Another said, "Summer QUEEN* has arrived, you mean."
This is just one of several stunning fashion moments the actress has shared recently. Just a day after she shared the sunny pool pic, Gellar gave her followers a glimpse of "Vegas Era Sarah," opting for an edgier look.
This time, Gellar channeled her inner Buffy Summers and stepped out in a lacy black corset with oversized jeans, pairing the outfit with silver necklaces and bracelets. She captioned the post, "Vegas Era Sarah is a good time."
Given her real-life fashion prowess, it makes total sense that Gellar's on-screen characters also had iconic looks, from Buffy's leather pants and leopard prints to Kathryn Merteuil's Dolce & Gabbana suit. While chatting with Vogue about her favorites from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gellar said, "For me, it was always about the boots. Buffy wore a lot of knee-high boots and Kristin wears ankle boots. That’s sort of how I differentiated them. With Buffy, some of the looks I’m all for, but some of the early outfits, I’m just like, Did you really need to mix leopard and stripes? Is that really a thing?"
As for her most memorable look from Cruel Intentions, she said, "It’s a toss-up. I would say the first one when you meet her: the corset. That was a whole thing. Our costume designer, Denise Wingate, was amazing...Also, the costume in Central Park, because that was my idea. I wanted to do the big hat, the dress, the full thing. We had to search all over for the hat, because nobody out here made hats like that."
The takeaway? Sarah Michelle Gellar is a fashion queen both on- and off-screen, and all signs point to her having a very stylish summer...
