Sarah Ferguson Makes Rare TV Appearance in a Barbie Pink Ensemble

It's not often that we get to see royals on TV (and The Crown doesn't really count), but earlier this week, Sarah Ferguson, 64, made a special visit to the British talk show Loose Women to discuss an important topic.

The Duchess of York visited the series to discuss her recovery from cancer and the importance of getting screened. The episode, which aired on Thursday, November 2, was teased on the official Loose Women Instagram account, where the caption read, “We’re thrilled to share that Sarah, Duchess of York joined us on Thursday to support the launch of our brand new landmark breast cancer campaign: Don’t Skip Your Screening.”

As noted in the caption, “The campaign highlights the importance of getting screened and tackling the 1.2 million missed mammograms by women in England - and the missed opportunities to detect the disease at an early stage. This is a subject particularly close to the Duchess’ heart, as she admits to nearly missing her own mammogram, something that has saved her life.”

Ferguson was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer in June 2023. Soon after, she underwent a successful single mastectomy. The duchess detailed her experience in a following post, where she wrote, “My cancer was completely symptom-free and I had no idea I was ill – no lump or any other symptoms. I was tempted to put off my routine mammogram screening – but my sister talked me into going.”

Ferguson had previously discussed the experience on her Tea Talks podcast with Sarah Thomson, where she said, “The greatest luck of my life has been to have a wonderful sister that coerced me to go [get] a mammogram...Because I think that is something that has saved my life.”

While we appreciated the duchess’s inspiring words, we couldn't help but also notice her hot pink blazer and pants, which would've looked right at home in the recent Barbie movie. The duchess has really been in her Barbie era lately, because she wore a similar ensemble to a Daughters For Earth event back in September.
