Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson is sending kind words to her former brother-in-law, King Charles, who is receiving treatment for his cancer diagnosis, which was made public earlier this week.

Per Hello! Magazine, the Duchess of York, 64, flew across the pond to attend a Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope’s Palm Beach charity event at The Breakers Hotel in Florida.  In a video shared by an attendee on Instagram, Ferguson gave a moving speech where she dedicated a heartfelt message to His Majesty amid his recent health news.

“I want to thank you all for your kindness in supporting my family members who are going through a hard time, and we wish everyone well, every family in the world, that has been diagnosed or who is going through a difficult time. We wish them well,” Ferguson said. “And, of course, my brother-in-law, we wish you well. Keep fighting on.”

She continued, “The Cancer Alliance is about hope, and there isn't enough hope in the world.  For anyone who's suffering from low hope, for anyone who believes they can't do this, they can. It’s absolute nonsense.”

While the monarch is undergoing treatment for his health, Ferguson is dealing with a recent diagnosis of her own. Last month, a spokesman for the duchess revealed in a statement (obtained by People) that she was diagnosed with skin cancer.

“Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,” the rep revealed.

On January 24, Ferguson was photographed leaving King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone, London, after a doctor’s appointment. (The cancer was discovered after the royal went to a dermatologist to have moles removed following her single mastectomy procedure.)
