Ryan Seacrest is taking a walk down memory lane.
This week, the 49-year-old host shared a rare throwback picture on Instagram in honor of American Idol’s “Year of Birth” episode, where the contestants choose songs based on their birth year.

Fans and followers filled the comments section with messages about Seacrest’s likeness to his dad, Gary. One person wrote, “You look JUST like your FATHER, Ryan!” Another added, “Is that you or your dad?”

Others poked fun at the throwback pic. One person wrote, “Now was that taken at Sears or JC Penny back in the day?!” Another added, “Baby Seacrest is a cutie. Dennis the menace vibes?”

Seacrest has returned to host season 22 of American Idol, which is currently airing on ABC. The emcee is leading the installment alongside returning judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Although Perry is leaving after season 22, Seacrest recently teased that Meghan Trainor could replace her as a judge.
“She was very good,” the former Live with Kelly and Ryan host said after Trainor’s stint as a guest host. “Megan is a super talent, too, and she's got a great sense of humor. She's fun and she's spontaneous.”
Bryan echoed Seacrest’s recommendation, adding, “I think Meghan’s always been real fun. You know, that's kinda been her brand, to have fun. [She’s] real witty, so certainly.”
