Woman of the Hour is Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, and it’s based on a true story. The film follows Sheryl Bradshaw, an aspiring actress who lands a gig on the television show The Dating Game. But unbeknownst to her, the winning contestant is a serial killer. 

In her honest review, PureWow editor Nakeisha Campbell wrote, “Kendrick takes a refreshing approach by exploring the lives of the victims, which easily makes this one of the best true-crime movies I've ever seen.”

2. Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)

4. Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare (2024)

Documentary fans can’t get enough of this brand-new film, which is based on the 2021 podcast. It follows a young woman who meets a charming guy online and then proceeds to live out one of my worst nightmares. 

Campbell raved about the ending in her positive review, writing, “I enjoyed the element of suspense. I mean, yes, the title already reveals that Bobby isn't truly Bobby. But what's really compelling is that final reveal.”

5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

Ride or Die is the fourth installment of the Bad Boys film series, and it features the return of beloved Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. This time, they’re on a mission to clear their late police captain’s name.

If you loved Beef, then you need to watch this action-packed thriller, which follows a road rage incident that goes awry. As the title suggests, it’s truly unhinged. 

7. The Shadow Strays (2024)
