Ryan Reynolds Wants His Fourth Child to Be a Girl (& He Has the Best Reason)

It's been nearly two months since Blake Lively shocked fans with the news of her fourth pregnancy. And now her husband, Ryan Reynolds, is opening up about what he wants the baby's gender to be.

For the record, the couple currently share three girls, including Betty (3), Inez (6) and James (7). So, one would think that Reynolds is keeping his fingers crossed for a little boy this time. But surprisingly enough, the proud dad is hoping to have a fourth girl.

While promoting his movie, Spirited, on The Today Show, he explained, "I know girls. So, I'm kind of hoping [for] that. But I'm ready for whatever happens."

The 46-year-old actor, who comes from all brothers, also mentioned that raising boys can be a challenge. He joked, "I speak from experience. You know, I love my well-being and my home. So, I was the youngest of four, and we were just arsonists and firemen."

As it turns out, Reynolds and Lively typically wait until the baby's birth to find out whether it's a girl or boy, so the gender will remain a mystery for quite some time. Still, it sounds like Reynolds is more than ready to become a dad of four.

Meanwhile, Lively has been keeping the details of her pregnancy relatively private—with the exception of one IG post, where she shared a series of pregnancy pics and called out the paparazzi for harassing her at home. She wrote, "Here are photos of me pregnant in real life so the 11 guys waiting outside my home for a [unicorn] sighting will leave me alone. You freak me and my kids out."

Back in September, Lively was all smiles when she confirmed the big news at the Forbes Power Women's Summit. She said, “I just like to create—whether that's baking or storytelling or businesses or humans, I just really like creating.”

We'll keep our eyes open for that gender reveal.
