New Poll Ranks Royal Family Members by Popularity (& I Noticed Something Interesting About the Top 2)

According to the results, Princess Diana is the most liked royal with a 76 percent favorability rating. She’s followed by Queen Elizabeth II (67 percent) in second place. Obviously, there is the interesting commonality between the top two ranked members: They’re both deceased. 

Perhaps it’s easier for the public to criticize living royals than deceased ones. It seems disrespectful to nitpick someone who’s no longer around to defend themselves.

As for the rest of the list, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth were followed by Prince William (58 percent), who beat out his brother, Prince Harry (53 percent), by a narrow margin. I was very surprised by Kate Middleton (52 percent), who was ranked fifth behind her husband and brother-in-law.

The list was rounded out by Meghan Markle (46 percent), King Charles (42 percent), Prince Edward (37 percent) and Queen Camilla (30 percent).
