Are Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Married? Here’s Everything We Know

It’s safe to say that Rihanna, 35, and A$AP Rocky, 35, have quickly become one of the hottest—and don’t forget best dressed—celeb couples in Hollywood. From friends to lovers, the pair reportedly started dating in 2020, with a source telling People magazine the two were officially an item. Since then, they have become the proud parents of two children. But many have started to wonder if the power couple decided to take the next step in their relationship and (secretly) tie the knot.

Are Rihanna and A$AP Rocky married? Or is it just one big rumor? Keep reading to find out the answer. 

Rumors of their secret marriage started circulating on the internet after the May 2022 release of Rocky’s music video for his single “D.M.B.” At one point in the video, RiRi (wearing a red dress and veil) and Rocky share a kiss at the altar in a fake wedding.

Fast forward to June of this year, Rocky, per an exclusive report by Page Six, took center stage for a Spotify performance at the Cannes Lions Festival and dedicated “D.M.B” to Rihanna, who was standing in the audience. He said to the crowd, “I’d like to dedicate this song to my beautiful wife in the f****** building!”

Fans immediately started to believe the couple had secretly tied the knot.

Sure, Rocky referring to Rihanna as his “wife” might just be his way of showing his love for her, but we can see why this would lead people to wonder about their relationship status.

So, Did Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Get Married?

Short answer? No. Back in June, a source close to the pair told US Weekly that they have “talked about getting married” in the future, but have put their marital plans on hold after welcoming two children together. 

However, a second source shared that close friends of the couple wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to go off and get hitched. “[They] are actually enjoying this guessing game that’s going on amongst fans and even their close friends,” the anonymous person explained.

In a separate interview with British Vogue earlier this year, the Fenty Beauty founder shared that raising their son RZA (who turned one year old back in May) has “made us closer.”

“We’re best friends with a baby,” she told the publication. “We have to be on the same page, but we’ve always kind of had that in our relationship. Everything changes when you have a baby but I wouldn't say it's done anything but made us closer.”

The “We Found Love” singer went on to share how much her life has changed since entering motherhood. “Having a kid honestly unlocks another side of life where you’re now in the matrix with the people who’ve already had kids. You come to have a different respect for moms and dads.”

She added, “Everything changes when you have a baby. It’s everything. You really don't remember life before, that's the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it—and there are photos of my life before—but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don't identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because it doesn't matter.”

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Welcome Two Children Together

In May 2022, Rihanna gave birth to her first son, RZA Athelston Mayers. In case you didn’t know, the baby’s moniker pays homage to the leader of the legendary hip-hop group, the Wu-Tang Clan. In addition to being a part of the group, Robert Fitzgerald Diggs—who goes by his stage name RZA (pronounced “Rizza”)—is an actor, filmmaker and producer.  

During her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance, fans couldn’t help but notice the singer had what appeared to be a baby bump. After the show, a rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she was, in fact, pregnant.

On August 3, 2023, the celebrity couple welcomed their second child together. And it is reported RiRi gave birth to (drumroll, please) another boy! Back in September, celeb photographer Miles Diggs shared a photo of the new family of four on Instagram. In the snap, Rocky is holding their newborn son, Riot Rose Mayers, in his arms while Rihanna leans against a car with baby RZA by her side.
