Reese Witherspoon is looking for new ways to stay connected with her fans. In fact, the 44-year-old actress has taken things to the next level and just shared her personal phone number on social media.
On Thursday, the Big Little Lies star posted a selfie on Instagram and encouraged her followers to reach out and contact her via text message.
“Hey friends! I’ve been thinking… what better way to connect with each other than by text?” she captioned the post. “So, here goes nothing! Send me a message to say hey, ask me questions, or just let me know what you're interested in hearing about. And I promise not to flood your inbox with photos of my dogs 615-235-5390 (Shoutout to my 615 peeps in Nashville!)” Consider our interest piqued.
We’ll be the first to admit that the idea of an A-list Hollywood celebrity giving out their personal number has us skeptical, to say the least. However, Witherspoon isn’t the first star to do something like this. Ashton Kutcher shared his contact information at the beginning of 2019 stating that he “missed having a real connection with people.”
Stars like Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lopez and Mark Cuban all followed in Kutcher's footsteps. "I will read it, I will respond to it, and we can all feel seen and loved, hopefully," Washington promised in her message.
Of course, it’s simply not possible for these stars to reply to every single message they receive to their direct line (if it’s really their direct line). According to E! News, in many cases, fans have received what seems to be a form of automated text or were asked to join a mailing list for something that particular celebrity is promoting. However, there are instances in which a handful of these stars have personally responded or interacted directly with the senders. So, we’re not saying it’s impossible.
What would we want to talk about with Reese? Obviously those recent Emmy snubs.
